Trusted Vs None Trusted RFC Connections for AC10

Hello

 

I am a little confused with the Trusted Vs none Trusted RFC Connections for AC10, from reading some of the documentation and experience of running 5.3 alongside 10 is that now for Firefighter in 5.3 you have to use a Trusted Connection in SM59 and give users additional authorisation for S_RFCACL and S_ICF in order for it to function.

 

From the testing I''ve carried out with EAM 10 I have not needed to create a Trusted RFC Connection in order to be able to use EAM. I am however facing an issue creating the logs but think this is a different issue.

 

My question is of the RFC's is it best practice to have 2 sets of Connectors, one for All tasks bar EAM using a Non Trusted RFC and then another RFC setup as Trusted for using EAM. From reading the documentation it isn't particulalry clear

Multi-select not working in OWL issue

I have an OWL for my custom BO, and the OWL is studio generated.

 

I did turn on Multi-select in the Properties of the Advanced List Pane by clicking on the upper-left box of the grid.

 

By multi-select, i assume this is the Microsoft standards of using Ctrl-Click to select individual rows, and Shift-Click to select a range of rows.

 

It does not seem to do multi-select.

 

Does anyone know why my Shift-Clicks or Ctrl-Clicks are not working ?

Maintain Tax Codes

I created a new tax code with a jurisdiction in transaction code FTXP (Maintain Tax Code). After adding tax code, I added associating tax percentage to output/input condition records through transaction code FV11 (Create condition). Once I added percentage, I saw percentage show up for tax code within FTXP and everything looked great. So, I went ahead and tried to create a transport through transaction FTXP (Transport->Export). However, I do not see the tax code within 'Transport Tax Codes: List' for associating country. After debugging, I found that condition record got inserted into table A003 (tax classification) instead of A053 (taxes using jurisdiction code) when using FV11. Should I be able to transport a tax code with a jurisdiction to another client? I know you cannot send over jurisdiction and tax percentages.

GRC 10 MSMP workflows - Issue

Hi All,

 

 

In GRC 10 when creating an access request, user will have an option to add ROLES and SYSTEMS. Here what is happening is if i add System line item, workflows are not working even though i have routing rule for system line items separately. I have tried in different ways and none worked out so far.

 

 

Has anyone implemented workflows having both ROLES and SYSTEM lineitems together and were succesful ?

 

 

What is the best practise while creating an access request? Just adding roles or both roles and System lineitems together?

 

 

Is there any option to remove SYSTEM option from ADD button available on access request screen ?

 

 

Things i have tried and one more consultant on this forum also had the same issue. Still couldn't crack solution for this

 

 

1. If you add both role and system as line item in access request, both has to have the approvers defined (custom agent or standard agent) otherwise the request goes to "Approver Missing" path

2. If you add approver to the system line item and when it is approved the whole request moves to next stage (it doesnt wait for the role line items to be approved)

3. Even if you add a routing rule to split the system line items from the request, the whole request is getting routed to the detour path

 

So in essence if you mix system and role in the line items, the system takes precedence and the whole request follows suit.

 

 

Experts please share your suggestions or ideas to make this work.

How to access User's Time Zone if no access to USR02

Hi,

 

I have requirement to change User's Default Time zone but only for those who has blank entry and other will remain as it is.

 

I can do mass update via SU10 however to get list of user's with Blank Time zone i should have access to USR02

 

as per our security policy no one in organization has access to USR02 table including basis /security team.

 

how do i get this list in Production system?

SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Upgrade – Overview

This page provides an overview and supplemental information for SAP BusinessObjects BI customers seeking to upgrade their systems from releases Enterprise XI 3.1 and earlier to BI 4.1.  There's also relevant information for current BI 4.0 customers to update their systems to BI 4.1.


When upgrading from releases XI 3.1 and earlier, it is important to realize that a significant shift to a 64-bit architecture (from 32-bit) takes place to take advantage of modern hardware and RAM, which allows BI 4.x to overcome previous resource limitations.  In other words, don't expect to run on the same hardware.  Of course, proper sizing, will help you attain optimal performance.


On the events page, you will find a series of informative webinar sessions on the Upgrade topic intended to provide you with detailed, end-to-end information and best practices on how to plan your upgrade, the upgrade process itself, and post upgrade configuration along with finishing touches.


Upgrade Process Overview

 

How you actually move onto the new SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 release depends largely on the release you are starting from.

There are two main options for migrating to SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 from previous releases.

  1. Update:  Perform a minor release update from BI 4.0 (any SP).
  2. Upgrade:  Perform an upgrade from Enterprise XI 3.1 release and lower.

 

The diagram below provides a summary of the available migration paths to 4.1 from previous releases.

Before performing an update from BI 4.0, please read the blog entry by Matthew Shaw on this topic: 

Doing a full install for updating from BI4.0 to BI4.1? Think again...

The “In-Place Update” option shown above is the recommended option.  As Matthew states in his blog:

“…The update to BI4.1 from BI4.0 is the same process as applying a Support Pack. I.e. just apply the ‘patch’ software to update from BI4.0 to BI4.1. There is no need to install BI4.1 on a new machine, nor is there a need to move, or copy content from one repository to another. Indeed it’s vital that the CMS System Repository database is updated as part of the update process…”

 

Upgrade

Upgrading to BI platform 4.1 involves installing a new deployment and copying your content and system data from an existing deployment.

You can install the new deployment independently or side-by-side with an existing deployment. The two deployments can work at the same time. When you no longer need your old deployment, you can uninstall it.

Direct

  • A direct upgrade path is possible if the version is at least “Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 SP2”.
  • Attention: There is information available saying that the minimum version for a direct upgrade can be “BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2”…   This is NOT correct!

Indirect

  • An indirect upgrade path is available for versions that are lower than “BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2 SP2”.
  • These are for example “BusinessObjects Enterprise 6.x” and/or “Crystal Enterprise 10”
  • In this case you need a version which is capable of a direct upgrade path in between
  • To upgrade to 4.1 from XI R2, XI MHF1, or XI R2 SP1, you must first upgrade to XI R2 SP2 (or higher).
  • To upgrade from BusinessObjects 5/6, or Crystal Enterprise 9/10, you must first upgrade to XI R2 SP2.

SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse 7.4 incl. usage type BI Java on SAP MaxDB – Trial Edition installation problem

Hi,

I am new to SAP env. I am trying to install  "SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse 7.4 incl. usage type BI Java on SAP MaxDB – Trial Edition" using CAL. Installation & activation is apparently transparent to the user. 4 out of 5 times, after activation when I access to the server I just see a plain suse OS without SAP related components (/sap , /sapmnt).  In some cases ssh connection is not working properly even. So I re-install it in those cases. Existing instances on the cloud seems to work fine and can be accessed through VPN without any problem. unstable installation only occurs to SAP instances, not to the other type of images that AWS provides(I tried ~20 different generic images, all worked fine without any problems).

 

The problem I would like to mention is different. after several installation, I couldn't get to the web ui(<ip address>:50000/irj) or SAP GUI. ( I followed the documentation so far). As in CAL interface there are not so much to configure, I assume this is also because of wrong installation like before.

 

 

Is this unstable nature normal? What are possible approaches for fixing those problems?


SFTP adapter issue with dupliacate files

Hello Guys,

I am working on file to proxy scenario on PI 7.31 Java only system.

I am facing issue with SFTP sender adapter, i wanted to reprocess the same file again. Although i unchecked the duplicate file checkbox.

File is not getting processed and adapter gives below error.

 

 

Error while sending message: Message ID 1406196843/-1496048728/1376310205/103581509 already exists in database: com.sap.sql.exception.OpenSQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (UNKNOWN.obj#=24157) violated

 

OpenSQLExceptionCategories: [NON_TRANSIENT, INTEGRITY_CONSTRAINT_VIOLATION]

 

Note- SFTP component is 1.0 and patch level is 01.

Please let me know if anyone have came accros such error and resolution for the same.

Deconsolidation - Automatic WTs not getting Created

Hello,

 

I am trying to run Deconsolidation Process. After First Warehouse Task confirmation, Second Warehouse Task from GR-Zone to DECONSOLIDATION Bin not automatically getting created. I enabled Automatic Warehouse Task for Storage Process level, even though, Auto WT were not getting created.

When, I try to Manually move to Decon Work Center and Process do Deconsolidation, then System throwing below error.

SEND_CONSUMER_ERROR after adding UNA and UNB segments in mapping

Hi Experts,

 

I am getting the below error after I have added the UNA and UNB segment in the mapping.

Previously, the configuration was working fine.

 

Error Description

--------------------------------

Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection IDoc_AAE_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Can not find Segment Elements for messageVersion 96A, message subversion 000000, message agency UN, segment S_UNB, newFirstlevelElement C_S001, currentIndexLevel1 0

 

UNB segments were showing the error, but after disabling that field I am getting error in UNH segment.

I am not sure why the structure is having the issue. I tried many things changing in TPM and configuration but nothing worked.

 

If anyone has faced this problem, please help on this issue.

My Leave Request Fiori App - Errors with the screen

Hi

I set up the My Leave Request App, found the following errors


1) absense types dropdown is empty

 

2) There is no FROM & TO date fields on the screen

 

3) Used & Available vacations do not get displayed

 

4) Calender - The calender only allow to select a single date? Why is not multi-select or Range..Is there a config where I can change the selection mode of the calender

Archiving MM_MATNR - dependent objects

Im trying to archive MM_MATNR (Material master)  and I understand that all dependent objects need to be archived before material master can be archived.

My question is what is the most effective way of identifying and archiving dependent objects collectively or individually??

 

Any assistant will me much apreaciated  but please dont post the following links or anythin from the following links(I have read thier contents n want more than they offer)
